Where should you use a subway tile splashback?
A splashback is a large piece of material that has the purpose of protecting surfaces and walls from splashes - hence the name! Not only do they come in beneficial in terms of protecting from splashes but they also protect from damage and heat as well. A splashback is typically found in the kitchen. However, you can also have a splashback in your bathroom as well. In kitchens, splashbacks tend to be behind the cooker and any other areas whereby you are likely to prepare and cook food. In bathrooms, splashbacks are often around the shower and bath area.
Different styles of subway tiles you can use for a splashback
There are lots of different styles of subway tiles available today, which can make a beautiful impression on your home. This includes everything from grey, modern tiles to Herringbone tiles. Whether you prefer matt or gloss tiles, there is something for everyone. Plus, you do not need to restrict yourself to tiling your kitchen and bathroom only. Laundry rooms and utility areas can also be enhanced with a stunning splashback. A lot of people like to use splashbacks in order to add some colour and vibrancy to the room in question. How to tile a splashback with subway tiles
If you are going to be tiling a splashback with subway tiles, it is important to make sure you do so correctly. Do your research beforehand so you can figure out everything that is required and how long it is going to take you to complete your tiling project. We would recommend using a backer board. You then need to consider how you are going to tile your home. What approach are you going to use? Mosaic tiles tend to be best for beginners, as there is more opportunity for error. You also need to select your grout with care. Choosing a high-contrast grout colour works well and creates a striking look. Aside from this, there are a number of different tools you are going to need, such as a wet saw. You do not need to purchase this outright. Why not consider renting one instead?
