Small Tiles

Ceramic tiles in smaller sizes are an optimal option for designers who like an exciting and not everyday look on spaces that are needed to hide, such as defects and curves from other tiles that leaves blank spaces in between. Moreover, they look good on large spacey rooms and walls where multiple combinations create a distinct pattern, whereas some traditions even use it to make very complex geometric patterns. Moreover, the versatility of small tiles allows various designs to be implemented on surfaces that look dull. Small tiles are considered tiles that range from 4.8 x 4.8 cm to 30 x 30 cm (squares) and rectangles whose sides are within the same limits (4.8 cm and 30 cm).

Ceramic tiles contain rough lines or grooves by having a contour pattern onto the face of the tile to make the tiles more slip-resistant and be used on wet areas. This is suitable for small tiles because patterns and colours can be freely combined and paired with the surrounding tiles on the implemented wet area to create more friction and slip resistance.

The advantages of small ceramic tiles are the size of the tiles are small and easy to transport when needed since small packages are lighter to carry. Aside from that, smaller tiles could be adjusted freely while having a minimal loss on tile cutting. This gives the advantage to implement bits and pieces of tiles merged to create a consistent and minimalistic character in the room. In addition, a streamlined look could be built by using small tiles where the flow of liquid could be improved, which is suitable for wet rooms such as bathrooms or kitchens where spills could be directed to the drain hole around the area.
