Why the 600-800mm range is mainly about pattern
The current 600-800mm collection is not simply a shorter version of straight plank flooring. It contains a strong mix of engineered timber and hybrid products designed for herringbone or chevron layouts, alongside compact hybrid tile formats. Board length therefore needs to be read together with shape, angle and the intended installation pattern.
For herringbone, compare board width and whether the product uses handed pieces or a specific laying sequence. Chevron pieces meet at angled ends to form aligned points, while hybrid tile formats create a larger rectangular grid. These formats produce different cutting requirements and should not share one generic set-out.
Colour variation also becomes more active when repeated across many small pieces. Review several samples where possible, especially for natural timber products, and establish the room's centre line, direction and edge treatment before ordering. Browse flooring layouts to compare the visual structure before narrowing by colour.
Use the exact product dimensions and pack coverage for calculations. Patterned floors usually need a project-specific cutting allowance, and substrate preparation, adhesive or locking system, expansion and installation guidance must follow the selected product.
